Although formally started in 1970 the founder members of the organization were actively working in the field of education right from 1950. It is due to their assiduous efforts that the teachers of the country in general and Maharashtra in particular that many benefits are being availed by the teaching community, a few of them are listed below.
- Nearly adequate pay and allowances on par with govt. employees.
- Stability in service.
- Pension,Provident Fund,Gratuity after retirement.
- Maharashtra Employees of Private Schools (Conditions of Service) Regulation Act of 1977 and Maharashtra Employees of Private Schools (Conditions of Service) Rules 1981 for protection of agrieved employees.
- Voluntary Retirement Scheme .
- Compulsory Retirement Scheme opposed and stayed by filing a writ petition in the court of law.
- Free education to the wards of teachers at all levels.
- Leave travel concession to the teachers and their family.
- Medical reimbursement scheme to the teachers and their family.
- Bonus.
- Payment of salary through bank.
- Improvement in academic and professional efficiency of teaching community by arranging seminars, workshops, debates and conferences.
